2019年四川省交通勘察设计研究院有限公司（以下简称“交通勘察院”）委托力久团队开展BIM+GIS技术高价值专利培育工作，在接受委托后组成了由律师、专利代理师、专利情报分析师组成的团队，策划了工作计划及服务流程。
力久团队通过专利检索了解到：近两年BIM+GIS相关专利呈现快速爆发式增长态势；在公路、桥梁、隧道三个应用领域中，BIM应用于桥梁的专利占比最高；主要专利申请人除欧特克、本特利、达索、天宝等国外来华公司，还包括国内建筑设计公司、施工公司、路桥公司、建筑设计院等。
基于对现有专利技术的了解，交通勘察院识别出了与自身研发方向竞合的对手，找到了可能构成威胁的现有专利，并进一步对比分析，挖掘出自身创新成果与竞争对手的差异点，针对差异点进行专利布局，提高了专利申请质量。
截止2019年底交通勘察院布局的发明专利均已获得授权，发明授权率100%，申请到授权时间最快的为6个月。
